My Awesome time in Denmark! -Davie

Image
My time in Denmark was SO SO fun! We only stayed in Copenhagen, and only for 6 days, but what made Copenhagen so fun was that we got to meet up with our cousins for the third time on this trip! Although we the weather was not the best, and we had to visit like 1,000,000 different castles, we also did some fun things to like going to a theme park called Tivoli, or to an intresting museum, so these are my.....                                 Favorite things I did in Copenhagen, Denmark! 1. TIVOLI  Tivoli is a theme park right in the middle of Copenhagen, and has lots of cool rides! My favorite ride was the demon, and was very cool looking from the outside at night!  Dont have a picture of me mb 2. Grass Skiing  I know it sounds crazy, but yes, we skied on grass 💀. Just in the outer side of the city, there is a garbage burner, but on the other side of that garbage incinirator, there is a g...

My amazing time in Budapest, Hungary -Davie

Image
Budapest being the only city that we visited in Hungary was super super fun, mostly because we met up with my best friends Evan and Ben and also went on a day trip together to Vienna. We did so many fun things together in this week so here are my....         TOP 5 THINGS I DID IN BUDAPEST/ VIENNA WITH EVAN AND BEN! 1. Formula 1  Seeing Formula 1 live was actually insanely fun, since we made a bet on who was going to come top 5 in the race, it made it even more exciting to watch! There were also fun things to do there like sim racing, walking on the race track, this spinning ball thing that made you insanely dizzy, and a thing where you could feel the g-force of an f1 car on your face! Me and my friend Evan were cheering for Max Verstappen, but unfortunaly he came in the fifth position 😑. these were all the drivers  we got on live tv! 2. Playing brawl stars with Evan and Ben  After a long day of f1 or walking around the city, me, Evan, and Ben lo...

Top 5 Highlights and Lowlights of the Balkans (Angie)

Image
We spent a month travelling the Balkans on a road trip, doing a loop that started and ended in Thessaloniki, Greece.  On the one hand, a month felt too long, as things like history and architecture started getting repetitive. On the other hand, we felt rushed through some places and felt we could've spent more time in them. I loved some parts, but didn't love other areas as much. Here are my highlights and lowlights! My 5 Highlights of the Balkans 1. Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina This city was so unique, and so wonderful. I have never been to a city like this ever (and I've been to alot). With so much conflict and horrible events of the recent past, I wasn't sure what to expect. But you can really feel and see the multi-cultural, multi-religion make up of the city (Muslims from the Ottoman era, Catholic Croats, and Orthodox Christian Serbs). This may be the only place I've been to where I've heard (Catholic) church bells ringing, right before the call of pr...

Top Apps & Sites for Travel (Angie)

Travel Apps We Rely On We didn't have much planned before we left Vancouver for our 9-month trip. So we've been planning and booking as we go. Here are the important apps and sites we've been using! FLIGHT APPS To watch for the best flight deals, I've used Hopper and Skyscanner . Admittedly, when we go to book, we don't usually click from there but rather try to book directly with the airline to get the best deals AND to make sure we really understand the luggage allowances!  Tip : Skyscanner watches RyanAir discount flights in Europe, whereas Hopper does NOT seem to include that. Of course to minimize our costs, we have also maximized our points from Avion and Aeroplan! Luckily, managed to use points for 3 big flights. SHARED TRAVEL ITINERARY Since we're both contributing to booking flights, trains, cars, accomodations and tours, we share it all with each other in TripIt. We use the free version, but it has been so great to keep track of all our bookings, date...
