Fiji: Davie's Perspective

Day 1:  After getting of the flight, we took a bus and then a boat to the island where we were going to stay at. There were 4 kids and 1 adult on the boat and the adults name was Josh. The kids looked very excited about are arrival. We walked through a village where I could tell was very different then Vancouver. Everyone was saying "Bula!", which meant hello in Fijian, and everyone looked so happy! We arrived at our home and a lady greeted us and said her name was Ethe. She said that she would be making are meals for the days that we were staying there. She gave us a tour of the house, and then we ate lunch. For lunch we had noodles, rice, and plantain. After the meal are family went snorkeling and saw some really cool fish and coral! It was definitely the most amazing coral I have ever seen in my life. Time flied so fast it was already dinner time but it only felt like we were snorkeling for 1 hour! For dinner we ate the same fish we saw in the reefs! Ethe said that Moses, the eldest son, caught the fish with a spear! We ate the fish and it was really great! Then we went down to the beach and watched the sunset. It was really pretty.
Day 2: Today we woke up at 4:30 because there was people singing and the roosters we also yellingπŸ™„. Me and my mom went for a walk and then went to a church where the rugby ream was singing. They had such nice voices. Then we went back and finally my dad and my sister woke up. We had Fijian doughnuts for breakfast and they were very good! Then we took a boat to the beach around the corner of the island, the waves on the way there were very big so it was pretty sketchy. Immideity as we arrived there I went snorkeling and the reef wad WAY WAY better then the one on the other side of the island. When I came back from snorkeling, we ate lunch under a tree. We ate fish, rice, mango, plantains,  pinnaple, and papaya. After lunch the kids took us to a coconut tree and they climed the tree and grabbed coconuts for us to drink. I did not really like the coconut water but the meat was really tasty.
When we arrived back at the homestay, we ate crab and rice for dinner. The crab was amazing! And one again, we went to see the sunset again.  Day 3: Today once again I woke up very early because of the roosters, and everyone was up in the village except for my sister and dad πŸ˜‚. We ate pancakes for breakfast and then took a boat to a place where we swam with the sharks! It was so cool! After swimming with the sharks we went with Moses and Tess to go see them do spear fishing. They can drive so deep! Moses can drive up to 45 metres and can hold his breath for 2.5 minutes! We saw him catch alot of fish with his spear, it looked very hard to do.
After that I took a nap because I was so tired. Even after my nap I was still so tired, but I got up because we had to eat dinner. That day we ate curry and rice, it was super super yummy πŸ˜‹. After dinner I felt like I could pass out because I was so tired. So we immideity went to bed when we arrived back home to sleep.        Day 3:  This day we had to wake up at 3:45 because we wanted to see the sunrise, we took a hike all the way up almost to the highest point of the island. The view was great! The dogs also came!
After heading down from the mountain, we ate Fijian doughnuts again. My family took another nap but I decided to play with the kids instead. We played rugby, duck duck goose, tag, and hide and seek. It was so much fun! I also noticed that none of them where shoes, so I decided to not wear  shoes too to make my feet  strong. After all of that, I was really tired so I went to the shop next door to eat some ice pops with a  kid name Jim and my family. They tasted like mango and vinnila, it was bussin. Then we went to Jim's house for dinner that night and we ate rice, sausage, crab, and pinnaple. It was easily the best meal that I had in that week in Fiji.
Day 4: This was the last day in this village. I had a nice sleep but my sister did not. She was sick πŸ€’ so all she did was rest all morning. I went for one last swim and then I started packing my bag. Another family came and we ate lunch together. At lunch unfortunately I got a fish bone stuck in my throat 😭. When ever I swallowed it hurt SO much! After we left we arrived at our hotel that we were staying at for 1 night until our flight in the morning. I tried to get the fish bone out in so many ways but I did not come out. My parents said we were going to go to a hospital in Alelaide the next night to remove it. When I went to sleep I was so sad and annoyed because it would not come out. Luckily, the fish bone came out in the night! I was so happy because it did not hurt to swallow anymore. And after eating breakfast, we went to the airport to fly to Australia. Being in Fiji was very fun!
