 Top 5 favorite things that I did in Phan Tiet

1. Playing with Ari and Darius.

They talk ALOT, and they are very energetic. The first night, Ari didnt sleep until like 1 AM and constantly wanted to talk to me at night. They like Pokemon and Mario. Me and Darius built a pokemon lego set the first day and he was so happy. He then always carried around Pikachu witch was in the set. Ari also liked minecraft,  And always watched minecraft vids on youtube. Over all they are really nice and so cute. Darius (right) is 4 and Ari (left) is 6. 

2. Massages and hair washes.

This was my first time trying a massage and a hairwash. On the second day, I got a hair wash with Peter and it felt soooooo nice! thry also gave me a face mask and a massage on my legs, arms, and neck. By the end of it, my hair and body felt so nice! 

3. Street on Electric mini bikes at the park in town square 

After dessert on the second day I rode an electric bike at a park. They went pretty fast and me and my sister did a race and I obiously beat her.  There were so many people riding cars, at least 100. And some teens were going SO fast. I wished I could go that fast but my bike wasnt as fast but it was still really fast. The bike had a brake, a go button, and a honk button. Heres what the bikes looked like:

4. Trying new foods.


The food was amazing here! My favorite dish was Pho, witch we had for breakfast one day, and that was amazing! My favorite drik that I tried was lemon tea I would always get it if it was on the drink menu. It tasted like tea, but was also very sweet. This has to be in my top 5 drinks. So with the Pho that could easily fit into my top five favorite foods.

5. Going to the market. 


We went to thsi huge market in the middle of Phan Tiet and it was nice, it had things for tourists, and alot of food too! I didnt get anything but I got a piece of cake.

Our stay in tigman village was so fun, we stayed there for 1 week and voulenteered planting mangrove trees, and in the afternoons I would go over to the school to teach the kids things, like math, english, and why they should protect the mangrove trees. I stayed in a dorm room with 2 other guys not including me and my dad. In the mornings, we had breakfast at 8:00, and started the voulenteer work from 9- 11 AM, before it got scourching hot out. The one thing that was my FAVORITE thing that I did here at Tigman village was the basketball court, it was an outdoor plaza that was covered by giant roof.  The kids from the village were so excited when I played basketball and teached at the school. Overall, I had a great time here and I thought it was an awesome experience! these were what the mangrove trees looked like.

Packing for a 9 month trip -Davie

Since we are traveling for a very long time, it's hard at first to decide what to pack! So even if you are going away for 1 month or more, these are the things that I highly recommend to pack in your suitcase! What to pack in your backpack: If you are traveling for a long time, it will get SO annoying if your backpack is very heavy, so I highly recommend to not put very heavy things in your backpack. In my backpack I have:  -my Nintendo switch -my homework  -my basketball  -and my water bottle  Also, try to think VERY carefully about what you are packing. I have sent countless things home with my friends and family. At the end of Japan, we sent a whole suitcase of things back with my Obachama and my Ojichama. For example, don't bring big fat headsets, try to bring airpods, earbuds, or wired earbuds if you can find them. Also things such as pants (bring only one pair), towels (most hotels have them), and big hoodies (don't pack more then one).  Get a cross body b...

Top Apps & Sites for Travel (Angie)

Travel Apps We Rely On We didn't have much planned before we left Vancouver for our 9-month trip. So we've been planning and booking as we go. Here are the important apps and sites we've been using! FLIGHT APPS To watch for the best flight deals, I've used Hopper and Skyscanner . Admittedly, when we go to book, we don't usually click from there but rather try to book directly with the airline to get the best deals AND to make sure we really understand the luggage allowances!  Tip : Skyscanner watches RyanAir discount flights in Europe, whereas Hopper does NOT seem to include that. Of course to minimize our costs, we have also maximized our points from Avion and Aeroplan! Luckily, managed to use points for 3 big flights. SHARED TRAVEL ITINERARY Since we're both contributing to booking flights, trains, cars, accomodations and tours, we share it all with each other in TripIt.
