Athens, Greece - Davie

After coming from an island called Naxos, we took a ferry to Athens. We took the metro to our airbnb, and the skytrain was very nice and very fast! When we got to our Airbnb, we discoverd that we had a kitchen, so we used that alot while staying here, it was nice to cook our own meals to feel like home . Since we arrived late we only had around 1 hour before we had to eat, so when my mom went to get groceries for dinner, I went to a basketabll court just 10 minutes away from my airbnb. I also played basketaball in Santorini, and island that we went to like 1 week ago, but before that I had not played since the Philippines, witch was around 3 months ago in March.

The next day we went on a walking tour around the city, seeing historical and modern day sights. By the end of the tour it was SOOO HOT, AROUND 37 DEGREES!! Luckily, in the afternoon we went to the archiogiocal museum, and it had air conditioning. The museum was filled with lots of naked statues and lots of marble pillars, and had lots of information about all of the ancient areas of Greece. One thing that I did not like is that most of the items were either marble statues, clay pots, marble pillars, or spears💀.

The next day we took a cooking class to cook traditional Greek food. We first went to the market to get some of the items we needed, like meat, vegetables, eggs, and dough. The first dish that we made was spanacopidas, following up with tzatziki, an eggplant dish, and a dish where there is grape leaves on the outside and ground meat and rice on the inside, kind of like sushi 😂.

After the cooking class, we went to the most popular sight in Athens, the Acropolis. With views up there you can see the whole city and realize how big it is. The view reminded me of Amman, the capital of Jordan, because all of the buildings are small look not that modern. This sight was very cool, and had so many tourists there from all over the world!

On our last full day in Athens, we went on a walk in the morning up to the highest point in Athens: Mount Lycabettus. It took us around 45 minutes to walk up, but felt like 10000 because it was like 40 degrees at the top of it. At the top there was an amazing view of Athens and the Acropolis down below. After that I got to play some basketball at a different court, witch had no people and was very nice. I played there for about an hour but it was so freaking hot out. Then we finnaly got back at the airbnb and got to take an ice cold shower and chill.

So this was my time in Athens, tomorrow we take a train to Veselonikki, a town about 5 hours away from Athens. Thanks for reading!
